StepOne College: Account & Data Deletion Request

At StepOne College (operated by Clarity Clinical Solutions LLC), we respect your privacy and provide a simple, transparent path to permanently delete your account and all associated application data.

      Zero Server Tracking Guarantee: StepOne College operates under a local-first architecture. Your essay brainstorming drafts, activity lists, and college preference matrices are stored 100% locally on your device and are never sold or shared with third parties.
    

How to Request Account & Data Deletion

Option 1: Direct In-App Deletion (Instant)

Open the StepOne College app on your mobile device.
Log in to your account.
In the top navigation header, click on your user profile chip / avatar.
Click the red Delete Account (Trash icon) button.
Confirm the prompt. Your user record in Supabase Authentication (auth.users) and all local device data will be permanently wiped immediately.

Option 2: Web / Email Request (Without App Installed)

If you have uninstalled the app or cannot access your mobile device, you can submit a deletion request via email:

Body: Please provide the registered email address associated with your StepOne College account.
Processing Time: Requests submitted via email are verified and purged within 48 business hours. You will receive a confirmation email once complete.

What Data is Deleted

Server-Side Data: We delete all account-linked data stored on our servers, including your user authentication record in Supabase (auth.users), profile data, email address, and active session tokens.
Device-Local Data: Data stored only on a user's device (such as college lists, comparison bookmarks, and essay brainstorming drafts in local storage) is cleared automatically when completing in-app deletion. For web/email deletion requests, device data is removed when the user clears their app/browser storage or uninstalls the app.

Data Retention & Statutory Exceptions

We do not retain user accounts or educational profile data following verified deletion. In accordance with applicable financial and tax regulations, limited billing records (if you purchased a subscription via Stripe on the web) are retained securely by Stripe solely to comply with statutory legal, financial reporting, and IRS tax compliance requirements for the mandatory retention period.
